These cookies are from my childhood. My Great-Grandmother always had these at Christmas. I loved them then, and I still do.

Ingredients

1 cup raisins
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
3-1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons cream of tarter
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup water
pinch of salt

Directions

Cream together: 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter (softened)
Add: 1 egg, 3-1/2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons cream of tarter, 1 teaspoon soda, 1/2 cup milk,
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix all together. Roll out thin. Cut into 3 inch Circles.

FILLING:
In a saucepan combine 1 cup raisins, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons flour, pinch of salt
Cook until thick.

Put 1 teaspoon filling in the center of one of the circles and top with one of the circles. Press outside edges together to seal. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees greased cookie sheet.
